Mack R. Hicks, Ph.D., Founder and Chairman of the Board
Dr. Hicks founded Center Academy in 1968 and achieved the status of Diplomate, American Board of Professional Psychology and the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology. Listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in psychology. Director of a three-year research grant from the National Institute of Mental Health on learning disabilities.
Andrew P. Hicks, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer and Clinical Director
Dr. Hicks is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and has served as Director of Assessment and Research for Center Academy since 1988. Dr. Hicks has been published in Neuropsychology and Cognition, the Southern Medical Journal, and the Journal of Clinical and Consulting Psychology. He has been the director of the Developmental Center programs in Florida and London, England.
Eric V. Larson, Ph. D., President and Chief Operating Officer
Dr. Larson has been with Center Academy since 1986 as director, administrative director, and president. Previously he was principal of private schools in Pennsylvania and Florida and professor of special education at Clearwater Christian College, Clearwater, Florida.
Steven Hicks, Vice President, Operations
Mr. Hicks is the regional director for the central west coast of Florida. He comes to us with more than 15 years of experience in staff administration. He has worked with the Department of Children and Families in Florida and has a background in sales and marketing. Mr. Hicks has functioned as director of the Clearwater, Tampa, Palm Harbor, and Lutz Center Academies.
Lisa Hartmann, Director of Education
Prior to joining Center Academy, Mrs. Hartmann was a professional development specialist with the school reform company Co-nect, Inc. Her previous experience includes 11 years in public school systems, teaching regular and special education. She has a BS in business and an MA in education.
